ONE PART TIME PROJECT WORKER (ONE DAY)

School Completion Programme (SCP) provides a range of targeted,
evidence based, and outcome focused interventions for children and
young people attending the participating schools. In Greenhills the
SCP clusters four DEIS schools, St Pauls Secondary School, Greenhills
Community College, Holy Spirit Senior Primary School and Holy Spirit
Junior Primary School.

Our service interventions include individual and group support aimed
at enhancing students’ emotional and social competencies, supporting
their motivation and engagement for school, learning dispositions and
overall educational achievement. Due to the expansion of our service
to an additional school, we are seeking to employ two part-time
Project Worker to join our team.

As a Project Worker you will work in Greenhills Community College,
providing a range of in and out of school supports, for one day a week
until August *. This contract will be renewed
depending on funding granted by TESS (Tusla Education Support
Services). You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team and have
an opportunity to avail of a range of quality training.

ESSENTIAL:

* A recognised third level qualification_ _(minimum Level 8 on the
NFQ) in a relevant discipline (i.e., psychology, education,
counselling/psychotherapy, youth work). Training in creative,
therapeutic or health allied practices (i.e., drama therapy, art
therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, mental health
promotion etc.) will be an advantage.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working with vulnerable
children and families.
* Experience of providing emotional support to children and/or young
people.
* Experience of working in schools and an understanding of the
issues that prevent children and young people from succeeding in
school.
* Experience of working therapeutically with young children is
highly desirable.
* Experience of planning, implementing, and reviewing intervention
programmes.
* Group facilitation experience.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practices and approaches (i.e.,
solution focused interaction, motivational interviewing, cognitive
behavioural therapy approaches, conflict resolution methods etc.). You
will have an opportunity to avail of free training in some of these
modalities and practices.
* Understanding of Children First guidelines and policies relation
to the protection of children and their rights.
* Understanding of outcome focused work.
* We are seeking an adaptable, reflective, empathetic individual.
* Ability to work independently.

It is intended that this contract will be renewed each academic each
year (School Completion Programmes have been funded on an annual basis
since *). Salary scale point one starts at
€ *, * (pro-rata).
Experience and qualifications will be taken into consideration
regarding the successful candidate’s entrant point on the salary
scale.
